Feast of the Immaculate Conception

The Feast of the Immaculate Conception, December 8, falls on a Saturday this year. This IS a Holy Day of Obligation!
There will be a vigil mass on Friday, December 7, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. The mass time on Saturday morning is 9:00 a.m.

Note: The 4:30 p.m. mass on Saturday does not count for the Holy Day! It is the Sunday liturgy, the Second Sunday of Advent.

We will, of course, need ministers for these Holy Day Masses. These two mass times were not on the recent questionnaire I sent out. If you can serve at either of these liturgies please send me an email or leave a note in the box in the Sacristy.

Thank you.

11:00 Mass Distributors (EMCs)

You may have noticed that the music group is now back on the main floor by the organ. The new mass schedule gives them enough time to set up between masses, so they plan to stay on the main floor.

This is how Holy Communion is to be distributed to them.

If Fr. Goebel is the presider, he will distribute to the music group first. The minister who is distributing Precious Blood #3 will go with Fr. Goebel and distribute first to the music group. After distributing to the musicians both Fr. Goebel and the distributor of Precious Blood #3 will go to their normal positions and continue to distribute to the assembly.

If Fr. Stricker is the presider, the ministers of Host #3 and Precious Blood #3, first distribute to the music group and then go to their normal positions.

Minister Schedules-Calendar

There are currently four ministry schedule periods per year. They are as follows:

September through November
December through February
March through May
June through August

You should expect to receive a Ministry Questionnaire in the following months:
August
November
February
May

Each Questionnaire is a little different. Each has the Special Liturgies for the upcoming schedule. For example, the Questionnaire that will be sent to you in early November 2006 will have the places to sign up for Christmas and Ash Wednesday.

The new schedules will be mailed (either U.S. Mail or email) at the end of the above months so you will have it before it starts in the following month. Please note the above months on your calendar. If you don’t receive a Questionnaire during the first part of the month you should contact me and or fill out a generic Sign-Up Form (they are bright yellow) that will be available in the Sacristy. Place the filed out Sign-Up Form in the Minister Coordinator’s Mail Box, located in the Sacristy. Please state that you didn’t receive a Questionnaire via mail or email and give me your current address and email address, so I may make adjustments.

Anyone with internet email addresses may choose to receive both the Questionnaire and Schedule via email. They will be sent as PDF files which you can open, read and print with the FREE Adobe Reader. If you don’t have Adobe Reader you may download it at .

Please make sure you have given me your CURRENT active email address. If you change your address, please send me your new one!

Depending on your computer, software versions and your internet provider, you may be able to fill out the PDF files, save them and return them via email. You only need the free Adobe Reader. You should download the latest free version of Adobe Acrobat Reader for your computer.

If you know anyone who desires to be a Lector, Extraordinary Minister of Communion (EMC), or Mass Coordinator, have them fill out a Sign-Up Form in the Sacristy or download a form.
